World Oyster Shucking Championships
Today's item with guest host Kelly Ryan featured a chat with expert oyster shuckers Todd Atkinson and Bob Skinner of Joe Fortes in Vancouver.

They're off to Seattle for a big oyster shucking contest, in preparation for the World Oyster Shucking Championships in Ireland later this year.

Purdy's Chocolate
This week I presented a tour of the Purdy's Chocolate Factory in East Vancouver. Yummmy! Purdy's has stores in BC and Alberta, and recently expanded to Ontario. Find more info at: www.purdys.com

Godiva's on Bravo
This week I talked about Godiva's, a new TV show debuting tomorrow night at 7pm Pacific on Bravo. It's a comedy-drama set in a Yaletown, Vancouver restaurant. In the first episode the executive chef dies of a drug overdose in his walk-in cooler.

West Coast Seafood
Today I featured Gord Martin of the Go Fish Wild Ocean Emporium, located in the parking lot of the False Creek Harbour Authorities Fisherman's Wharf.

I also spoke with Rick Burns of the Pacific Provider. Although the boat is going into drydock, he still has some high quality boneless and skinless spring salmon fillets for sale. Call 604-988-4757.

And, coming soon, fresh sea urchin roe, or uni, from Divers Direct Seafoods Ltd. (site under construction).

Ocean Wise
This week I talked about Ocean Wise, a new program designed to make it easy for both restaurants and their clientele to make environmentally responsible seafood choices.
